13U Cavs Lost in Semifinal at Battle of NOVA

Despite finishing 2-0 and securing first place in pool play for third time this season, the 13U NOVA Cavaliers dropped a tough one in the semifinal at the Battle of NOVA Invitational on Sunday.
The Cavs used a stingy defense to stymie D1SA Spartans 44-24 in the opening game of the tournament, then defeated CYA 41-29 to stay unbeaten in the first day of action. The 2-0 mark help NOVA earned an automatic bid into the semifinal against CBSA Hoyas. However, being undermanned and out-sized, the Cavaliers dropped a hard fought decision to the Hoyas and failed just short of reaching to their first tournament final of the year.
The tournament though was another strong showing by the 13U Cavs, who has finished 4 out of 5 tournaments so far this season with a winning record. NOVA will travel on the road for the first time this season to Randolph Macon College (Ashland, VA). They will participate in Battle at the Brock host by Macon Hoop Group on Saturday 6/14.
