May 17th – 19th Weekend Tournament Recap

NOVA Cavs 17U-Fort team tipping off at the Hoop Group Southern Jam Fest at Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, VA Hampton, VA / Loudoun County, VA –  Seven of the teams from NOVA Cavs were in action this weekend.Four of the Cavs team played this past weekend in the Hoop Group Southern Jam Fest.  It was a fantastic experience for the program, as four teams combined to go 8-5 in the tournament.  17U-Fort and 16U-Gray Mendes both went 2-1 in the event, while the 15U-Corish team finished 3-1 for the weekend.  Our Cavs teams went up against some of the best competitions in all of East Coast and competed very well at the highest level! NOVA Cavs 15U-Sullender team finished as the Tournament Runner-Up at the Loudoun […]

McLean Highlanders Matias Prock Commits to Play at Fork Union!!

The NOVA Cavs would like to congratulate McLean HS and four years Cavs standout Matias Prock on his recent commitment to play basketball at Fork Union Military Academy for the Blue Devils.Matias is the second Cavs player in the 2019 spring to commit playing basketball at the next level.  He was a member of the McLean high school (17-10; 7-3) this past season, where he was a star during his amazing four year run as a Highlander.  He was named as VA All-State team, Northern All-Region team and Liberty Conference Player of the Year.  He was also named to the NOVA Challenge All-Star, Washington Post Honorable All-Met team and many other basketball accolades.Congratulations on this terrific news for Matias and his family!!

May 11th – 12th Weekend Tournament Recap

NOVA Cavs 16U-Callaghan team winning the Big Shots VIT Championship at Paul VI HS in Fairfax, VA Fairfax, VA / Gainesville, VA / Richmond, VA –  Nine of the teams from NOVA Cavs were in action this weekend.Four of the Cavs team played this past weekend in the Big Shots Virginia Invitational Tournament.  It was a great event for the program, as four teams combined to go 10-3 in the tournament.  All three teams of 17U-Fort, 16U-Gray Mendes and 15U-Sullender went 2-1 in the event.  We want to congratulate 16U-Callaghan for taking home their first tournament championship of the year!  Coach Callaghan’s team won four straight games over the weekend and showed they are a force to be reckon with! NOVA Cavs 12U-Young team at the Hurricanes […]

Marshall Statesmen Daniel Deaver Commits to Play at Navy!!

The NOVA Cavs would like to congratulate George C. Marshall HS and three years Cavs standout Daniel Deaver on his recent commitment to play College Basketball at United States Naval Academy for the Midshipmen.Daniel is the first Cavs player in the 2019 spring to commit playing college basketball at the next level.  He was a member of the George C. Marshall high school (21-7; 11-1 and two-time National Conference Champions) in 2019, where he was a key contributor during his decorative career as a Statesman.  He was named as VA All-State, Northern Region and National Conference Player of the Year, NOVA Challenge All-Star, Capital Classic All-Star, Washington Post All-Met team and many other accolades.We are all extremely proud of this big news for Daniel and […]

May 4th – 5th Weekend Tournament Recap

NOVA Cavs 15U-Corish team winning the Battle of the Beltway Championship at Mt. Vernon HS in Alexandria, VA Hyattsville, MD / Fairfax County, VA / Ellicott City, MD –  Six of the teams from NOVA Cavs were in action this weekend.Two of the Cavs team played this past weekend in the Mount Vernon Battle of the Beltway tournament.  It was a great event for the Cavaliers, as both teams played well and finished with a combined 6-1 record.  The 14U Cavs-Roller went 2-1 in the event, while 15U Cavs-Corish won the Tournament Championships rolling four straight victories over the weekend. NOVA Cavs 17U-Fort team winning the Zero Gravity DMV Super Cup Championship in Hyattsville, MD For the 17U Cavs-Fort’s team, NOVA took home their second tournament championship of the year […]

April 26th – 28th Weekend Tournament Recap

NOVA Cavs 17U-Lin team winning the Hoop Group Pitt Jam Fest Gold Championship in Pittsburgh, PA Pittsburgh, PA / Fairfax County, VA –  Nine of the teams from NOVA Cavs were in action this weekend.Five of the Cavs team traveled up to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this past weekend to participate in the Hoop Group Pitt Jam Fest.   It was a terrific showing for the program, as our older age groups performed extremely well and finished with a combined 8-2 record.  The 16U Cavs-Callaghan went 2-1 over the weekend, while 17U Cavs-Fort also performed solid throughout the tournament and completed with the same record.For the 17U Cavs-Lin team, NOVA took home their third Hoop Group Pitt Jam Fest Championship in three years, as Coach Lin’s squad […]
