Warriors Get the Best of Cavs (14U-Lin)

Saturday, April 21st- NOVA Cavs 57 – Bowie Magic 42. NOVA Cavs traveled down the beltway and head to the heart of PG County for the first time all season. In the opening game of the PVAAU DII District Qualifier, Cavaliers used a strong production off the bench and took a double digit lead midway through the 2nd QT. Nathan Orrick led the attack, scoring off variety midrange jump-shots that help Cavs to a lead that they never relinguished. Cavs move to 1-0 in pool play and they will take on 6th Man Warriors next.
Saturday, April 21st- NOVA Cavs 41 – 6th Man Warriors 54. Cavaliers suffered their first loss of the tournament at the hands of 6th Man Warriors. Despite jumping out to an early 10-2 lead, the Cavs struggled to control the tempo against a talented and athletic team from MD. William Unterkofler had a strong performance though in the loss. Cavs dropped to 1-1 in pool-play and will take on Ward 5 Warriors next; winner gets the chance to advance into semifinal tomorrow.
Saturday, April 21st- NOVA Cavs 39 – Ward 5 Warriors 58. Playing their third game in less than 12 hours, the Cavs showed fatigues in loss against Ward 5 Warriors from Washington DC. Once again, the Cavs struggled midway through the first half despite another good start, which let the flood gate open in a meaningful game. With the loss, Cavaliers was eliminated from Potomac Valley DII District Qualifier. They will take next weekend off and play again in two weeks at the PVAAU DIII District Qualifier.
