April 1st – 2nd Weekend Tournament Recap
17U Cavs finished as the Silver Champions this past weekend in the Big Shots DC Team Durant at the Maret School
Loudoun County, VA / Washington DC – Eight of the NOVA Cavalier teams were in action this weekend in the DMV area.
11U, 13U-Sullender, 13U-Holcombe, 14U, 15U-Malone, 15U-Lin and 16U-Dashti all participated in FLEXX Basketball Spring Kick-off Classic in Loudoun, VA. Both the 13U teams finished first in pool-play, before each of them bowing out in the semifinal despite a strong 3-1 record for the tournament. 15U-Lin team played well and finished 4-0 for the weekend, while the 16U-Dashti’s team earned the Tournament Champions at the 10th/11th grade Boys division with a combined 3-1 record.
17U Cavs entered into the Big Shots DC Team Durant event at Maret School in Washington DC. Coach Gray-Mendes had an terrific opening weekend, finished as the Tournament Runner-up and Silver Champions. Greg Rowson (Robinson) and newcomer Cleo Green (Freedom South-Riding) each had strong performances, contributing to the 17U team’s successful first tournament as a group.
Next weekend, most of the teams in the NOVA Cavs organization will participate in BRYC Open Classic or Big Time Hoops DC Live at NEW 24.
