April 30th – May 1st Weekend Tournament Recap
12U NOVA Cavs head coach Joe Sullender meet with his team before the game at NEW 24 in the Zero Gravity Collision in the Capital this weekend
Washington DC / Fairfax, VA / Hyattsville and Boyds, MD – Nine of the NOVA Cavalier teams were in action this weekend in the DMV metro area.
17U-Sawitzky, 16U, 14U and 12U Cavaliers participated in the Zero Gravity Collision in the Capital in Washington DC and Hyattsville, MD this weekend. Coach Sawitzky’s team completed the weekend with a stellar 3-1 record and lost in the Championship game, while our 16U and 12U team both played valiantly throughout the tournament in competitive games. 14U dropped a tough decision in the tournament final. Strong showing though for all the Cavs teams in the Zero Gravity event.
15U-Dashti, 13U and 10U were part of the NOVA 94ft Spring Shootout in Fairfax County, VA. Coach Boltersdorf had the strongest showing with a combined 2-2 record, as they continue to show steady progress throughout the first two months of the season. Meanwhile, 15U-Frate competed in the HC Elite Spring Fling in Ellicott City and split with a 2-2 record. Finally, 11U Cavs led by Coach Ferrick took home 1st place the MD Flames DMV Challenge, as they swept the competition with a perfect 3-0 record.
Next weekend, most of the teams in the NOVA Cavs organization will participate in the Big Shots DC and Big Shots UA Next Generation tournament. Look for the schedule to be publish very soon.
