June 18 – 19th Weekend Tournament Recap
16U Cavs finished as the Champions this past weekend in the Charm City National Warm-Up at NEW 24
Hyattsville, MD / Boyds, MD – Three of the NOVA Cavalier teams were in action this weekend in the Maryland.
Both the 16U and 17U-Sawitzky all participated in Charm City National Warm-Up in Hyattsville, MD. Both teams had an outstanding weekend, as they accumulated combined record of 6-1 and won the tournament championship for their respective age groups. 16U Cavs were led by Joseph Lampman (Marshall) with the fabulous performance, who was named All-Tournament MVP after the final. NOVA also received great effort from Andrew Powers (South Lakes) and Matt Maribojoc (Jefferson) all weekend long. Congrats to Coach Gray-Mendes’ team as they take home their second tournament championship on the season!
The 17U Sawitzky’s team continued their phenomenal year as they finished 4-0 and won their third tournament championship on the season. Cavaliers were led by Jordan James (Marshall), Chas Battaglia (Langley) and Joey Hamer (Bishop Ireton) throughout the whole tournament, as they defeated Shot Doc Nation, FBCG Disciples, Clarksburg All-Stars and NHB Elite. Cavs will take the next two weekends off and resume their summer exposure tour in July.
13U Cavs also participated in the MD Flames Summer Challenge in Boyds, MD this past weekend. Coach Boltersdorf finished 1-2 in the tournament and is now finished with their tournament portion of the season. We want to congratulate and salute all of our coaches, players and families on the 13U team as they complete their inaugural season together. Great job!
Next weekend, most of the teams in the NOVA Cavs organization will be off with the exception of our 12U-Sullender Cavs team.
