June 9th – 11th Weekend Tournament Recap
NOVA Cavs 15U-Malone’s team taking the trip to visit King’s Dominion after competing in Battle at the Brock Tournament in Ashland, VA
Fairfax County, VA / Ashland, VA / Upper Marlboro, MD – Six of the NOVA Cavalier teams were in action this weekend.
Our 13U-Holcombe and 15U-Malone both participated in the Battle at the Brock Tournament in Ashland, VA. The tournament was hosted at Randolph Macon College, as both teams competed hard and had a great experience in their first overnight trip of the season. Coach Holcombe’s team finished the tournament 2-1 with wins over Foundation Academy and Carolina Cadets, before losing in a back-and-forth affair vs. Fredericksburg Premier. Coach Malone’s team was 1-2 over the weekend, losing to a pair of good teams in the tournament.
15U-Lin and 16U Cavs participated in the Maryland Invitational Tournament (MIT) in Upper Marlboro and Waldorf, Maryland this past weekend. Coach Dashti’s 16U team rolled off 4 consecutive victories, before losing to East Coast Power team in the bracket play. 15U-Lin went 2-1 in the MIT, winning both games against Team Choo and Jersey Force – Vogel, then dropping the first round of bracket play to Boo Williams.
For the 13U Sullender’s team, they had two big wins in the BYRC Tournament of Champions in Fairfax County, VA. The 14U Cavs team had a nice performance as well; they won three straight games and lost in the Championship Final. Way to go Coach Ruzic’s team!
Next weekend, some of the Cavs teams will be playing in The Mount Team Camp or Hurricanes Summer Slam.
