June 1st – 2nd Weekend Tournament Recap
NOVA Cavs 17U-Lin team winning the Tournament Championship at the Battle of NOVA at Centreville HS in Clifton, VA
Fairfax County, VA – All ten NOVA Cavs teams were in action this weekend at our 13th annual Battle of NOVA Invitational event.
Congratulations are in order for our 17U Cavs-Lin and 15U Cavs-Corish’s team. Both teams finished 4-0 and claimed their second consecutive title in the Battle of NOVA event. Coach Lin’s team defeated Team Elevate, ProLook – Willis, and LBA Attack Sigma before taking down Team NOVA in the Tournament Final. In the Championship game, Lance Johnson of Freedom South Riding HS scored a game-high 30pts to lead the way for the Cavs in a spectacular performance.
Coach Corish’s team blitzed their way through the pool-play with wins over NOVA 94feet – Blue and MADE Hoops, then came out victorious in the semifinal and against Team Ultimate and Metroball – Marshall. 15U-Corish’s team is now 17-5 on the year and have been on a roll recently.

For the other Cavs, our 10U Byrnes, 13U DeSenti, 14U Roller and 16U Callaghan all advanced into the Battle of NOVA tournament final. All four teams finished as the Tournament Runner-Up and performed terrifically throughout the entire weekend.
Next weekend, nine of NOVA Cavaliers team will be in action participating in the Premier 1 East Coast Clash Tournament in Northern Virginia.
