May 13th – 14th Weekend Tournament Recap
NOVA Cavs 16U-Dashti’s team in action at Big Shots VIT this weekend at Paul VI school in Fairfax
Fairfax, VA / Richmond, VA / Manheim, PA – Six of the NOVA Cavalier teams were in action this weekend in the DMV area.
14U, 15U-Malone, 16U and 17U Cavs participated in the Big Shots Virginia Invitational Tournament (VIT) at Fairfax County this past weekend. It was a successful all across for the Cavs, as 3 of the 4 teams all finished with a winning record, with Coach Dashti’s 16U team advancing into the Tournament Final before dropping a tough double-overtime affair to the eventual Champions VA Playmakers. Both of our 14U and 17U teams had some strong performances, as each team finished 2-1 in the event and played well throughout the weekend.

For the 15U-Lin’s team, they rolled off three wins at U-Turn Sports in the Zero Gravity Virginia Madness event in Richmond. Coach Sullender’s 13U Cavs team had their first overnight trip and won their opening game against Wilmington Titans, but lost the ensuing next two games to finish out 1-2 overall at Spooky Nook in Manheim, PA.
Next weekend, our 11U, 12U, 13U-Sullender, 13U-Holcombe, 14U, 15U-Lin, 16U and 17U team will all be in action. Some of the Cavs team will travel out of town to participate in big events. Stay tuned for the game schedule later on this week!
