May 19th – 21st Weekend Tournament Recap
NOVA Cavs 16U-Dashti’s team winning the at USBA North Carolina State Championship this weekend at Garner Road Community Center in Raleigh, NC
Raleigh, NC / Woodbridge, VA / Loudoun, VA / Hyattsville, MD / Springfield, MA – Seven of the NOVA Cavalier teams were in action this weekend.
15U-Lin and 16U Cavs participated in the USBA North Carolina State Championships at Raleigh, North Carolina this past weekend. It was a successful all across for the Cavs, as Coach Dashti’s 16U team won the tournament and rolled off 4 consecutive wins! Meanwhile, our 15U-Lin team finished 3-2 and lost in the Tournament final. It was a fantastic weekend for both Cavs teams.
The 17U Cavs went up to Springfield, Massachusetts and played in the prestigious BasketBull Hall of Fame Spring Classic. Coach Gray-Mendes’ team represented NOVA well, as they went 2-0 and finished first place in the pool play, before bowing in their first round game against Connecticut Basketball Club (CBC).

For the 13U Sullender’s team, they rolled off three straight victories in the I-95 Classic in Woodbridge, VA. Coach DeSenti’s team also finished 2-1 in the I-95 Classic and had another winning tournament. 13U-Holcombe finished a competitive weekend with 0-3 in the Zero Gravity Battle for the Belt at PG County, while our 12U Cavs went 1-2 in the Loudoun Invitational Tournament (LIT).
Next weekend, all the Cavs teams will be off due to Memorial Day weekend. The entire NOVA Cavaliers organization will host our 11th annual Battle of NOVA the following weekend in Fairfax County.
