May 5th – 7th Weekend Tournament Recap
NOVA Cavs 13U-Holcombe finishing as the Tournament Finalist at the Commonwealth VA Classic this past weekend at Belmont Ridge MS
Loudoun, VA / Hyattsville, MD – Six of the NOVA Cavalier teams were in action this weekend in the DMV area.
11U, 12U, 13U-Holcombe and 14U Cavs participated in the Commonwealth VA Classic at Loudoun County this past weekend. It was a successful all across for the Cavs, as 3 of the 4 teams all finished with a winning record, with Coach Holcombe’s 13U team rolling off four straight victories before losing in the Tournament Final. Meanwhile, Coach DeSenti’s 11U squad won all three games in the pool-play, finishing undefeated and as the first seed of the pool. Unfortunately for the Cavs, they dropped a tough decision in the 1st round of bracket play, but it was still a great showing for the young Cavaliers club. The 14U team also had a good weekend as they went 2-1 on the weekend.

For the 15U-Malone’s team, they lost three tough contests at NEW 24 in the Zero Gravity Collision in the Capital event in PG County, while Coach Sullender’s team had a good first day of the tournament and finished 1-2 overall.
Next weekend, our 14U, 15U-Malone, 15U-Lin, 16U and 17U team will all be in action. Most of the Cavs will participate in the Big Shots Virginia Invitational Tournament (VIT) in Northern VA.
