Fairfax, VA –  Only two NOVA Cavalier teams were in action on a quiet Mother’s Day weekend.  Both the 11U-Sullender and 17U-Knoche’s team played in the Big Shots VIT event at PVI and NEW 24 Fitness over the weekend.

The 17U-Knoche’s team went 2-1 for the second consecutive weekend.  NOVA defeated Alive United 46-34 with a solid 11 pts performance from Ben Christenson.  In the second round game, Cavaliers lost to NOVA Elite 40-36 despite another strong outing from Christenson.  On Sunday, Cavs finished the tournament on a strong note with an convincing victory over Fairfax Stars to wrap up the tournament.

Coach Sullender’s 11U Cavs also went 2-1 on the weekend.  Cavaliers defeated Loudoun Elite 23-13 and BGC Team Impact 35-33 on Saturday.  In the first round of the bracket play, NOVA lost to LBA Attack 30-21 in the semifinal.  Despite the loss, the 11u Cavaliers are 4-2 in their last six games and past two tournaments.  They will play in the Commonwealth Classic host by Loudoun Xpress AAU this upcoming weekend.

May 16-17th will be an active weekend for the Cavaliers organization.  Seven of the ten Cavalier teams will be in action, including 17U-Lin’s trip to the Hall of Fame Spring Classic at Springfield, Massachusetts.  Stay tune later this week for game schedule announcement!
