TNT Classic Recap for 17U, 16U-Lin, 15U and 13U Cavs

District Heights, MD –  Four of the NOVA Cavalier teams were in action this weekend at TNT 4th of July Classic (hosted by Potomac Valley Basketball).

17U Cavaliers finished 2-0 with a pair of hard fought victories over FBCG Disciples (56-52) and Maryland’s Finest (53-44).  Despite finishing first place in the pool-play, NOVA decided to take off for Sunday’s bracket play in preparation for AAU Division II National Championship Tournament (Tavares, Florida).

16U-Lin Cavaliers completed the tournament with a 2-1 record.  NOVA defeated FBCG Disciples (52-22) and Team Alexandria (58-50), before dropping their last game to Emery Elite (45-66).  They also took off on Sunday as they prepare for their travel down to AAU Nationals.

15U Cavaliers dropped their first game of pool-play to eventual champion PG Bulls (51-38).  Cavs then bounced back with a nice win over Sons 4 Life (49-46).  NOVA lost in the quarterfinals of bracket play to finalist Terrell Suggs Team Sizzle 61-49; it was a solid showing for the team as they played one of their better games of the season.

13U Cavaliers concluded their season at the TNT Classic with tough losses against Team Takeover (36-14), 6th Man Warriors (42-29), and South County Steelers (35-33).  It was their last tournament of a successful inaugural season together.

Both NOVA Cavaliers 17U and 16U-Lin will travel down to Orlando, Florida. They will both participate in AAU Division II National Championship Tournament next week.  The 15U Cavs will travel up to Baltimore to play in the Charm City Blue Chip Challenge next weekend.
