Behind a balanced scoring attack, the 14U Cavaliers complete their first season together with consecutive victories on Sunday. NOVA were down 18-10 midway through the half, when Alex Beckett sparked the team with some timely baskets to begin a 9-0 run. Cavs used the momentum swing to snatch a 29-24 lead at the half. The 14U NOVA Cavs returned in the fall by participating in the Potomac Valley Big Shots League. With a 1-3 record heading into Sunday’s contest against Team New Dynasty, Cavaliers earned a much needed come-from-behind victory.NOVA was down 21-18 at halftime and 29-20 after first four minutes of play in the second half, but stormed back in the game with terrific defensive efforts. Despite losing their first two games in the AAU DIII National Championship Tournament, the Cavs made a monster run in the Classic Bracket before bowing out in the semifinal to the eventual Champion- Seven Cities BWSL 82-75 in overtime.
